There aren’t a lot of options in the once rural dominated city of Fayetteville, North Carolina. However, with the expansion of Interstate 295 and a recent addition of a minor league baseball team, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, some unique and wonderful businesses are popping up.
Right outside Fort Bragg base on Yadkin Road is a delicious little Japanese restaurant called Umami. As soon as you walk in the door, you know you’re in for a treat. Decorated with Manga character pictures and artistic flare, the small space immediately draws you in. With limited space, the place is often packed. Bar seats are available as well as take out.
The menu is lined with Umami’s signature sushi rolls along with authentic Japanese cuisine. At lunch, they offer several bento box choices including the option of choosing your own. My husband tends to stick with what he loves and orders the Japanese Chicken katsu curry. I on the other hand will eat any of their sushi rolls, bento boxes, and one of my favorites, the raw salmon salad. Oh! The ginger dressing is delicioso!
If you’re ever in Fayetteville, North Carolina or live in this area and are a fan of asian cuisine, try Umami. You won’t regret it!
